Joe Cannon, KA5RNH, Wayne Russell Sr., N5VWM and Stewart Braud, K5STA formed the Ascension DX Group in 1996. Their mission at the time was to help others achieve DXCC and support for DXers and other Ham operators. In the last 3 years, our club has grown to over 24 members, most of who are very active. We are an ARRL Affiliated Club. One goal of the group is to have DXCC Field Reps, making it possible for field checking cards.
The ADXG has members who have over 300 countries confirmed and 1 member who has achieved DXCC Honor Roll. Several members hold the 5BDXCC Award, the 5BWAZ Award, WAC and other awards. In 1998, the group received the callsign AD5XG. In 1999, the group joined the 10 -10 International organization and has a 10-10 number of 70707 to work those 10x dxers.
