Hurricane Katrina Photos

Below are some photos we took on a trip through New Orleans going to the town of Chalmette.  The area is much worse then these photos show.  Everywhere you look, both in New Orleans and in Chalmette, there is damage.  Street after street in both places are lined with piles of debri that still has to be picked up and disposed of.  What the winds didnt destroy the water got.  Homes had to be totally emptied as all furniture, carpets, applicances and so forth were destroyed.  It is going to take a long while just to pick up all this mess.  There are abandoned and flooded cars everywhere also.  All shrubs and other lower vegetation have turned brown due to the salt wate, and some of the bigger trees also.  I wish that I would have had more film with me and that we would have been able to pull off the road and take better photos.  It is totally undescribable!!!!
