The Cabin Restaurant
and
The Cajun Village

Both the Cabin Restaurant and Cajun Village are owned by the same man who has collected these old buildings from the river road area for years.  The Cabin and the Cajun Village are located only 3 miles apart so it is possible to visit both places in the same day! Therefore I decided to put both of them on the same web page.  On my Louisiana Links page you will find a link to the homepage of both of these establishments with much more detail then I provide here.  Both places are well worth your time!

Photos below are thumbnails!!!

The Cabin Restaurant

The Cabin Restaurant is a collection of old slave dwellings, an old school, a general store and lots of old antiques.  Some of which are joined together.  It features some unique restrooms that are made of old cisterns.  There is also a wonderful but newer grand dining room.  The bricked Courtyard out back is beautiful.  The food is the best around!  I will add more detail about the buildings soon.

First Photo: Front view of the restaurant.  The main front section of the restaurant is made of of two cabins joined together.  I do not know the age of them.

Second Photo: Side view from the parking lot.  There is also parking in back.

The Cajun Village

The Cajun Village is also a collection of old buildings.  But the buildings are used as craft shops and art galleries.  There is also a restaurant there with good home cooking.  The local Ascension Tourist Center is also there while waiting for their new building to be completed which will be across the road.  There are a couple of alligators there in a special swamp area that can be viewed at times.  Please note that I do not have photos of all the buildings of the Cajun Village.  There are several more including an old barn full antique farm equiptment.
