| In 1949 Gilbert Matherne and Neil Aikin, both left Germany to go back to the states. Neil ended up in Korea and Gilbert got out the service after serving his complete enlistment. The two never saw each other again. There were many times Gil wondered what ever happened to Neil. It wasn't until last year, 1999 that Gilbert located Neil and set a plan for them to see each other. With the anticipation, it finally happened. They were reunited in CA. Neil picked up Gil at the airport and slowly drove on to his home. Excitedly, the two of them began telling each other what has been happening for the last 50 years. |

Neil and Gil were both in W.W.II and that was the main topic in this conversation. They had a lot to catch up on. Gilbert
and Neil swapped stories all night long and a neighbor of Neil's found
himself in the middle of the conversation enjoying every minute of it.
Talking about the Constabulary days brought back many memories of their youth. They had a lot of territory to cover including the subject of "Girls". |
| All good things must come to an end so Gil and Neil have to say their "Good Byes" until the next visit. This time, the guys are making plans to see each other at the next U.S. Constabulary Reunion in Reno. |
