(catchy title, huh?)

Welcome to my home page! Links which appear in ALL CAPS are pages I've created or maintain. All of my pages are updated using the HTML Kit html editor. I use Paint Shop Pro, from Corel as my image editor. Final testing is done with the Opera browser.
The background image is the Andromeda Galaxy (M31), which has a special significance for me, as it was the very first image I ever downloaded from the Internet. I was using a Commodore 64 through the Delphi Internet online service at the time. Obviously, I'm not using the C-64 anymore, but I am still on Delphi, via their web access program. My current computer is a Dell Dimension 8400 3Ghz Pentium 4 with 3GBs (added) of DDR2 RAM, a 160GB (original) and a 500GB (added) hard drives, an added dual layer DVD+/-RW drive, which is also a CD-RW drive, and my computer is hooked up to Eatel's fiber optic service. I bought it on eBay.
I live in a small town in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, called Sorrento, which is about 30 miles south of Baton Rouge. I'm 46, and physically disabled with a form of Muscular Dystrophy. I'm a member of the Planetary Society, the BATON ROUGE ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY, the International Association of Pyrographic Artists, the Old Time Radio Researchers Group, and a charter member of the National World War II Museum in New Orleans.
Besides astronomy, I also enjoy watching sports such as both NFL football (I'm a very big New Orleans Saints fan!) and Australian Rules Football (gotta root for the Saints there too!). There's a U.S. Footy league, but their games aren't shown on my cable system. I also like watching skiing, hunting shows, and just about any form of motor racing.
My all time favorite TV show is Star Trek, TOS the most, though I do enjoy most of the others, except for Voyager which I've never seen, and Enterprise, which I just flat out gave up on what with their constant rewriting and/or ignoring of Star Trek history. I also love Mystery Science Theater 3000. And I love cartoons! Favorites include the old Road Runners, Tiny Toons, Rugrats, Animaniacs, Duckman, Dexter's Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls, Futurama, South Park, Angry Beavers, Celebrity Deathmatch, The Fairly Oddparents, and last but certainly not least, Pinky and the Brain!
When I'm not net surfing or updating my various pages (which isn't often these days) I do woodburning (an art form, not something you do with a fireplace. Also known as pyrography, hence the I.A.P.A. affiliation noted above), and create MODS for the WWII U.S. submarine simulator Silent Hunter: Wolves of the Pacific, which is one of the reasons for the OTRR membership. And I listen to music, ranging from Country & Western to Pop to Rock to New Age.
My other interests include nature and the great outdoors, especially anything having to do with bears. And I'm very interested in military history, World War II in particular, and not just submarines.
My pyrography work was featured in this article in the WWWoodcarver Ezine.
I hope you enjoy your visit here and will make continued use of all the pages I have created so far. Thanks for stopping by.
