68. George Washington⁴ Barton (John S.³, Henry², ¹) (#132) was born in Mt Home, Baxter Co, Ark January 28, 1854. George died May 29, 1927 in Gilford, Hill Co, Montana, at 73 years of age. His body was interred May 31, 1927 in Gilford, Hill Co, Montana.

He married Mary Jane Cannon in Marion, Ark, December 23, 1877. (Mary Jane Cannon is #239.) Mary was born in Knox Co, Tenn April 24, 1854. Mary was the daughter of Richard Cannon and Mary Delia Gilbert. Mary died November 22, 1929 in Gilford, Hill Co, Montana, at 75 years of age. George Washington Barton and Mary Jane Cannon had the following children:

239 i. Burd D. C.⁵ Barton (#241) was born in Mt Home, Baxter Co, Ark November 21, 1878. Burd died February 11, 1879 in Mt Home, Baxter Co, Ark, at less than one year of age.

240 ii. Cora L. Barton (#242) was born in Mt Home, Baxter Co, Ark April 24, 1880. Cora died November 22, 1881 in Mt Home, Baxter Co, Ark, at 1 year of age.

+ 241 iii. Myrtle Sementa Barton was born August 31, 1882.

+ 242 iv. Joseph Keller Barton was born October 5, 1884.

+ 243 v. Jack Cannon Barton was born March 18, 1886.
