This page has lots of graphics.  Please allow time for them all to load.

Below you will find one photo of each plantation that I have been able to photograph so far.  Most of these homes are located in the southern part of the state.  Some of these are private homes and some are open to the public.  The private homes will be marked with a (P) just after the date of construction.  I have also note the homes that provide Bed & Breakfast (B&B).

Plantation Home Information and Photo's

I have started working on a page with a bit of history of the homes featured above.  Also on this page you will find more photos of each home if I have them.  This page is still under construction but you may view what is completed by clicking on the link above.

Special Photos
Belle Grove Plantation was built in 1847 and was demolished in the early 1950's.  The home was located in southeastern Louisiana along the banks of Little Bayou Black.  These photos were taken between 1902-10.  They are used with permission from the McBride family, descendents of one of the original owners of the home.  Many thanks to the family for sharing these!

Belle Grove, Iberville Parish

Here is a link to the other Belle Grove Plantation that was located on the Mississippi river in Iberville Parish.  The photos and information on this page were copied from a book called Louisiana Plantation Homes, Colonial and Antebellum by W. Darrell Overdyke.  I have included all the copyright information also.
